Meet Crystal
Professional care, and a story of my own.

I’m Crystal Mattox, a licensed marriage and family therapist and a survivor of thyroid and ovarian cancer. I have experienced chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and the fear and uncertainty that can come with cancer.
My experience doesn’t tell me what yours has been like. But it is part of why I care so deeply about creating room for the things that can be difficult to say out loud.
You may feel frightened, angry, disconnected, hopeful—or several things at once. We can begin wherever you are.
Why this work matters to me
I know some of what it is to sit with pain, fear, anxiety, and helplessness. That doesn’t mean I know exactly how you feel—your story is your own. What it means is that I won’t need you to make it sound better than it is.
Our time together is about you: what you’re carrying, what feels hardest to say, and what you need right now.
How I work
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist and a certified Emotionally Focused Therapist. I work with individuals, couples, and families.
Emotionally Focused Therapy centers on emotional safety and connection. We pay attention to what you feel and how you relate—to yourself and to the people you love. Cancer can shake both. Therapy can be a steady place to understand what’s happening and find your footing again, at your own pace.
